KBP Statement on Latest Killing of Broadcaster

The KBP is both saddened and outraged to hear that yet another Filipino broadcaster is killed, following the news of the fatal shooting in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental. of Ernesto A. Rolin, a broadcaster of DXSY-am in Ozamis city. We are running out of words to express how frustrated we are that the killings of media men could go on even while a large number of cases involving the killing of journalists remain unsolved. While we take note of current efforts to stop these killings, we also cannot deny that they seem to have had little effect so far to change the situation. We call on the authorities to act quickly in the investigation of this latest violence against a broadcaster and bring the perpetrators to justice.
