Philippines’ first Broadcast Olympics

BROADCAST OLYMPICS. The KBP and the Campus Media Network, a student organization, signed a memorandum of agreement last January 21, 2009 for the holding of the Philippines’ first Broadcast Olympics, a competition among 49 schools and universities in Metro Manila that offer Communication Arts or related courses. The Broadcast Olympics, scheduled in September, will feature seven events for group competition and two events for individual competition.

Group competitions will include: Radio News Broadcasting, TV News Broadcasting, Radio Commercial Production, TV Commercial Production, Short Film, Documentary, and Music video, while individual competitions will include Photography, and Essay Writing. The Campus Media Network will be responsible for organizing the event while KBP will provide promotional and technical support to the project. KBP members will also participate as judges in the competitions.

The Campus Media Network is composed of students from the following colleges and universities: Centro Escolar University, Letran College, Lyceum of the Philippines, University of the Philippines (Diliman), Miriam College, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Philippine Women University, and Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
